Note:
-
Countings by Michel Klemann & Henk-Jan Hof.
-
The weather seemed perfect. The number of birds stayed low although there
were some nice species migrating like Bramblings, Hawfinch, Woodlarks,
Dunlin, Spotted Redshank, and a Nuthatch flying from willow to willow.
Local
birds and other specialities:
-
A new record of Egyptian Geese. On the muddy bank I counted 77 birds early
in the morning. Both Ruddy Shelducks and the Barnacle Goose (who thinks
he is an Egyptian Goose) were present.
-
Other local birds: a Long Eared Owl, Kingfisher, Wheatear, Coal Tits, Common
Sandpiper, 9 Curlews (we saw this morning 69 different birdspecies).

27 sep 2003; Roost of Egyptian Geese (77 birds) with 2 Ruddy Shelducks
and a Barnacle Goose. |
