Note:
Local birds and other specialities:
-
The waterlevel of the river is still rising. Large numbers of Geese; 1100
White-fronted and 300 Greylag Geese were foraging on the meadows. In between:
hundreds of Black-headed Gulls, Wigeons, Lapwings, 5 Golden Plovers, 2
White Storks.
-
In the willows behind me, still one Chiffchaff present.
-
On a roost of Rose-ringed Parakeets in Amsterdam; 1140 birds were counted
on 22 october 2002!!
Mail from EBNNL.
And this morning, for the first time, a Rose-ringed Parakeet passed the
counting point, flying to NE. Of course I don't know the origin of this
bird, but the population in the Netherlands seems to grow quick at the
moment. There seems also to be a group of free-flying Rose-ringed - &
Monk Parakeets in Apeldoorn, about 15 kilometres WNW from here.
