Note:
-
Very good migration today with for the location relatively high numbers
of Chaffinch and Woodpigeons.
-
My second Serin for the location flew over; only seen earlier on 26-oct-1995.
-
My third Magpie flew over; only seen earlier on 7 and 14-oct-1999.
-
Three Crossbils to SW were my first here this season. At Falsterbo last
week, we saw dozens of Crossbills migrating every day day so we hope for
more migration next days/weeks.
-
Other invasion species today:2 Coal Tits; No Redpolls yet, altough they
fly around in the country and there were quite a lot leaving Falsterbo
last week.
Local birds and other specialities:
-
The Nuthatch I heard yesterday for the first time, was still present.
-
A group of 28 Canada Geese were flying around. Bearded Tits in the reedbed
and several Water Pipits on the fields.
-
Close by also 10 Teals, 350 Lapwings, Goshawk, >100 Widgeons, Gadwalls,
Barnacle Goose, etc.

Nine migrating Cormorants |
Poluted air; orange/brown horizon (this is no fogg); which
you can see best in the field when you wry your neck 90 degrees |
|
|
Hard to see; but these 461 Lapwings were flying around for about 15
minutes to find out of the conditions were good enough to migrate; they
didn't go. |
