Note: Yesterday I saw a group of more than 60 White Storks soaring above Meppel and also a group of 9 Buzzards. Local birds and other specialities: Kingfisher, hunting Goshaw, 3 Purple Herons, young Crested Grebes, a pair Egypytian Geese with 4 young, 1 Tufted Duck, Short-toed Treecreeper, Bullfinch, 2 Buzzards etc.
