Local birds and other specialities:
-
This morning there came four Purple Egrets out of the swamp; two adults
and two juveniles. Last year the higgest count of Purple Egrets here was
ten. De Wieden is one of the few breeding locations of this specie in the
Netherlands.

Other species: 6 Egyptian Geese, 13 Greylag Geese, 2 Bullfinches, 2 Goshawks
(ad & juv), Buzzard, Marsh Harrier (juv), and the first Widgeon.
