Local birds and other specialities:
Countings by Michel Klemann & Henk Hof.
To much fog for normal migration / countings. Many birds were only "heard".
Local birds: 2 Redshanks, 2 White Storks, Hobby, 2 Common Sandpipers, Yellow-legged
Gull, Turtle Dove, White-fronted Goose, Green Woodpecker, Whitethroat,
Snipe. ( In total we heard and/or saw 69 different bird-species)
The Bar-headed Goose came from the east and landed on the borders of the
river.
The Purple Heron was (it sound strange) only heard. It was clearly a heron-call
which passed over through the fog, but we couldn't see the bird flying
to SW. We checked it just after the countings with all the other "heron-calls-mp3's"
and there was no doubt about it. |
