Note:
  • This morning, a clear and quiet morning, I counted here for the first time and wonder how many times I will count on the spot; and what birds will pass by during the countings that will follow.

Local birds and other specialities:
  • At the westside of the river IJssel; hundreds of Greylag Geese were present and made an impressive amount of noise while flying around once in a while. At least one White-fronted Geese and one Snow Goose accompanied the group.
  • Other local birds: 23 Curlews, Buzzard, 3 Hobbies, Kingfisher.
  • While standing there you can see birds following the river IJssel or the canal (Twentekanaal). Cormorants, gulls and ducks are showing this very obvious.
  • 48 Wigeons (3 groups) flew via the canal to NW.
