Note:
-
Quit a dull morning, foggy, cold and almost no migration.
Local birds and other specialities:
-
This morning I counted 24 White-fronted Geese who had been sleeping 200
meters away from me. Every day they get more used to my presence. They
started to sleep here from 28th of october. Then it were 21 White-fronted
Geese and a couple of Greylag Geese. In the beginning they flew away as
soon as I arrived. Yesterday and today the stayed for a while, drinking
and floating around and they don't fly straight away when I look through
my bino's.
We are lucky, 1999/2000 will be the first season that it is not allowed
to shoot White-fronted Geese. Protection came a little late. Now it's time
to exterminate hunting in this country completely.
