Note:
-
For the first time this autumn, there was frost on the grass this morning
and there was also fog.
Local birds and other specialities:
-
There were much less Chaffinches, Skylarks and Meadow Pipits in the air
then yesterday but the were lots of Starlings. Largest group excisted of
1200 birds.
-
It seems that there will be also migration of Redpolls this year. Yesterday
I saw the first one and today I counted 6 already.
-
New at the observationpoint is a roost of Greylag Geese on the water near
the decoy. In earlier years it was very rare when Greylag Geese came down
on the fields or on the water. This year, I saw the first group of 13,
landing on 3 august, and a much larger group of 83, on 6 september. After
that, on 3 oktober, a group of 7 was present, increasing to 21 on 10 oktober
The last four days, numbers increased from 21; 22; 25 to 39 today.
-
Other birds: Rudy Shelduck 2, Little Grebe 2, lots of ducks again, Goldcrests,
Goshawk, Water Pipit, Kingfisher, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker.
