- Today, very early for the time of year, a group of 14 White-fronted Geese flew to the south together with 28 Greylag Geese.
- In the decoy there was a Penduline tit. I have seen this species here only once before, a couple of years ago.
- Only one Ruddy Shelduck today, foraging with a family Egyptian Geese in the fields.
- I heard the Kingfisher passing by, but I couldn't see him. It often flies very low and extreme fast.

we hope this short note from a bird trapping and ringing site Pape in the south-western part of Latvia will be of interest to someone. There were great movements of Common Jay (Garrulus glandarius) along the Baltic cost. The first small groups were noticed on Sunday 5th of September. Unusually large numbers of Jay was traversing the area during last week. Daily bird counts produced the following figures:
7552 - September 15th
16750 (continual stream) - September 16th
10803 - September 17th
1090 - September 18th
50 - September 19th
Totally during 13 day period have been seen 36830 Jays.Best regards
