Note:
-
After a three days with no countings (fog in the morning and no time to
count), the weather was rather good because of clear sight and wind.
-
The district water board has been "cleaning" the watercourse near the observationpoint.
The area is a nature-reservation but they are still using old maps!!! They
like to do it every few months, tearing all the protected plants and frogs
on the water-side......
Local birds and other specialities:
-
A group of >30 Siskins was present in the decoy. I heard there also a Kingfisher,
Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and a Goshawk. Three Buzzards were in the vicinity
of the observationpoint.
-
Barn Swallows flew very low against the wind.
-
Young Mute Swans were standing and flapping wings against the wind to get
stronger muscles to fly.
-
A young Great Crested Grebe was flying in and out the water. He also was
training for long distance flights.
